Values in Action
At Mayflower Secondary School, our Values in Action (VIA) programme nurtures students with a generous spirit who understand their role in building Singapore's shared future. Aligned with Forward SG's vision of "Building our Shared Future, Together," our programme emphasises collective responsibility where individuals do their part to support and uplift those around them, ensuring Singapore remains strong and united for generations to come.
How We Achieve These Goals
Our VIA programme integrates seamlessly with academic subjects and CCE lessons, creating meaningful connections that enhance learning. Through our Strengthen Eco Stewardship Programme, we focus on Environmental Sustainability and Community Sustainability across all levels.

Hydroponics Farming Students embrace the theme "Investing in Our Shared Tomorrow & Doing Our Part as One United People" through hands on Hydroponics Farming. Over three weeks, classes collaborate to grow crops, integrating Geography concepts on sustainable resources and Social Skills lessons. Their harvest is shared with our community partners and canteen vendors, demonstrating how small acts create community impact. |

Sec 2 |
Intergenerational Bonding Secondary 2 students explore "Investing in Our Shared Tomorrow & Enabling Seniors to Age Well" through intergenerational connections. Beginning with a National Museum visit that connects to their History lessons on the Japanese Occupation, students gain a deeper understanding of our pioneer generation's challenges. With that, they then engage with seniors through activities and meaningful conversations about Singapore's journey to independence, creating powerful connections across generations whilst learning directly from those who shaped our nation's history. |

Sec 3 |
Community Advocacy Secondary 3 students explore "Investing in Our Shared Tomorrow & Foreword Singapore Together" by deepening their perspectives on identified community concerns and understanding how these issues affect Singapore, Singaporeans, and the wider regional and global community. Through peer advocacy and inter-class learning exchanges, students share their insights and learn from their cohort's diverse approaches to community challenges. |

Leaving a Legacy Through "Investing in Our Shared Tomorrow & Foreword Singapore Together," Secondary 4 students focus on "Leaving a Legacy" by advocating and sharing the insights they discovered during their Secondary 3 VIA experiences. Students mentor their juniors through interactive games and presentations, passing on their deepened understanding of community concerns and their impacts on Singapore and the global community. |
Our VIA programme transforms Mayflowerians into engaged citizens with a generous spirit who understand their vital role in Singapore's future. Through meaningful service experiences that connect classroom learning with real-world impact, students develop the values, skills, and commitment needed to build a strong, united, and caring society for generations to come.
